Student Pick-Up & Release Procedures
Procedures for Early Release & After School Pick-up
Early Release:
If you need to pick up your student before the end of the school day, you must send a note with your child in the morning. Early release notes must include student name, teacher, time of pick-up, and a specific reason for the early release. If a note is not sent with your student in the morning you must call the main office by 2:45 p.m. When you arrive to pick up your student, please proceed to the office (door 1 by pillars). Early dismissals are discouraged. Students leaving a few minutes early often miss important last minute instructions and/or reminders. Interrupting classes to call students to the office also distracts other students and interrupts the end of the day classroom routines. Early dismissals should occur only in rare circumstances. Please make every effort to schedule appointments outside of school hours. Students leaving early will be marked as early out. This is considered the same as a tardy. Leaving prior to 3:00 p.m. will be marked as a half day absence.
After School Parent Pick-up or Change in Afternoon Transportation:
- If you need to change your student's afternoon transportation, you must send a note with your child in the morning. Notes must include student name, teacher, type of change, and the date for the change.
- Students being picked up after school will be dismissed out of door 7.
- Parents may wait in the car line for curbside pick-up or park in the VISITOR lot and walk up to the flag pole by door one (1) to meet the student.
Students will always be sent home via the regular specified route unless parent notification has been received prior to 2:45 p.m.
